Sharks are a group of elasmobranch fish characterized by a cartilaginous skeleton, five to seven gill slits on the sides of the head, and pectoral fins that are not fused to the head. Modern sharks are classified within the clade Selachimorpha (or Selachii) and are the sister group to the rays. However, the term “shark” has also been used for extinct members of the subclass Elasmobranchii outside the Selachimorpha, such as “Cladoselache” and “Xenacanthus”, as well as other Chondrichthyes such as the holocephalid eugenedontidans.

Arizona Cardinals Looking To Gain Ground Versus Seattle Seahawks

November 11th, 2010 – by Alex The Seattle Seahawks (4-4) and Arizona Cardinals (3-5) will meet this weekend in a match-up of struggling and depleted NFC West teams. Coverage of this game can be seen on Fox as well as DirecTV channel 713 starting at 4:15pm EST. Seattle will hope to be re-joined by quarterback, Matt Hasselbeck who they no doubt appreciate much more now after his delayed absence, as they attempt to stay in first place in the division and complete a sweep of this season series against Arizona. For what it’s worth, retention of first in the NFC West is nothing to brag about considering this is the only division in the league that doesn’t have a single team with a winning record. The Seahawks have lost their last two games and are currently tied with the St. Louis Rams with a one-game lead over the Cardinals for the lead of the division. All the while, Arizona is a single game ahead of the last-place woeful San Francisco 49ers for last place. […]
