Spanish football clubs in international competitions

Football clubs from La Liga (Spain) have been the most successful in Europe. Real Madrid have been crowned champions of Europe on 13 separate occasions. La Liga clubs have won 58 major European trophies between them, more than any other league. Real Madrid have won 22 titles in total while Barcelona have won 14. Sevilla and Atlético Madrid have contributed another 6 each, while Valencia have won 5. Deportivo La Coruña have been regulars in the UEFA Champions League while Athletic Bilbao, RCD Espanyol, Alavés and RCD Mallorca have all contested major finals. Even smaller La Liga clubs, like Villarreal, Celta Vigo and Málaga have found success in Europe, winning the UEFA Intertoto Cup.

Ant Middleton

Anthony “Ant” Middleton is an English former soldier, adventurer, and television presenter. He is best known as the Chief Instructor on the Channel 4 television series “SAS: Who Dares Wins”. Middleton also appeared as the captain in the adventure/reality-show “Mutiny” and the survival show “Escape”.

Giuseppe Tornatore

Giuseppe Tornatore (born 27 May 1956) is an Italian film director and screenwriter. He is considered as one of the directors who brought critical acclaim back to Italian cinema. In a career spanning over 30 years he is best known for directing and writing drama films such as “The Legend of 1900”, “Malèna”, “Baarìa” and “The Best Offer”. Probably his most noted film is “Nuovo Cinema Paradiso”, for which Tornatore won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. He has also directed several advertising campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana.
